Resumen

Las descargas gratuitas de música de Internet han experimentado últimamente un crecimiento espectacular. Según estimaciones, en apenas tres años el número de descargas se ha incrementado en España un 240%; paralelamente, la venta de música en formato original sigue disminuyendo paulatinamente, lo que ha llevado a las discográficas a replantear sus estrategias de negocio. El análisis de los antecedentes del comportamiento de descarga resulta relevante, entre otras causas, para delimitar medidas que permitan superar esta situación. Así, se presenta un modelo que incluye el comportamiento pasado, la predisposición ética, la actitud hacia la descarga, la implicación y la percepción de habilidades de descarga como antecedentes de la intención. Mediante ecuaciones estructurales se pone de manifiesto que es la actitud hacia la descarga de música el factor clave que determina la intención de hacerlo; una actitud fuertemente influida por variables como la predisposición ética del individuo y la implicación de los individuos con la música, variable esta última no considerada en ningún estudio previo.
