Doctor by the Universitat de València with the thesis Estudio de la detección y codificación cromática en sistemas de visión artificial 1993. Supervised by Dr. Marcelino Vicens Lorente.

Degree in Physical Sciences, specializing in Electricity, Electronics and Computer Science from the University of Valencia. Doctorate in Physical Sciences in July 1993. I am Professor of Computer Architecture and Technology in the Computer Science Department of the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSE-UV). Since its creation in 2012 to the present, I am the director of the Master's Degree in Bioinformatics at the UV. I have taught classes in 3 subjects of this master's degree. I have been the director of 45 final master's projects (TFM), of which 2 have obtained the extraordinary prize for the best TFM of the course. I have participated in research projects on different topics: artificial vision, robotics, image processing, ophthalmology, optics and computer networks. Currently my main line of research is Bioinformatics. I have made programs for the analysis of NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) and Protein Interaction Network data. I have collaborated in the development of web applications for the analysis and visualization of bioinformatics data. I have 4 publications in Bioinformatics and 4 in BMC Bioinformatics. Since its fundation in March 2016, I have been a member of the Institute for Integrative Systems Biology (I2SysBio, UV-CSIC). I belong to the TBC, Theory, Bioinformatics and Computing research group (https://www.uv.es/tbc), where I carry out metagenomics studies applied to extremophile systems, environmental samples and also the human microbiome. I develop algorithms for the analysis of large volumes of bioinformatics data.
