Doctor by the Universitat de València with the thesis Memòria personal Jaume Ramon Vila i el seu dietari. Edició i estudi 2021. Supervised by Dr. Eulàlia Miralles Jori.
Arantxa Llàcer Martorell is a postdoctoral researcher at the Universitat de València (UV), where she earned her PhD in 2021 with the dissertation «Jaume Ramon Vila i el seu Dietari. Edició i estudi», which received the distinction of Excel·lent Cum Laude with International Mention. She is currently carrying out the project «PAGES. Print and Global Exchange Strategies: The Cormellas Books Business in Europe», funded by the Generalitat Valenciana (CIAPOS 2024/108). Within the framework of this project, she is undertaking a research stay at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in collaboration with the PROLOPE project. Since September 2024, she has been a member of the Thal-IA research group (CNS2023-145014), whose main objective is the identification of previously unknown autograph works from the Golden Age. To this end, together with the other members of the project, she develops knowledge and tools for the location, cataloguing, and analysis of manuscripts in national and international libraries and archives. In addition, she applies artificial intelligence to data processing and manuscript analysis, which are subsequently validated using traditional philological methods. Between 2022 and 2024, she held a competitive Margarita Salas postdoctoral contract to develop the project «Els impressors catalans de Lope de Vega» as a member of the PROLOPE research group at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. As part of this project, she completed a one-year research stay at the Università di Trento. Her research lines aim to bring to light a historically undervalued period of Catalan culture, namely the sixteenth, seventeenth, and eighteenth centuries. Through her most recent project, she has focused on the study of commercial networks among cultural agents—printers, booksellers, and merchants—involved in the dissemination of literature, with particular attention to the circulation of ideas and books between Castile, the Crown of Aragon and several European cities. Throughout her research career, she has acquired technical skills through her participation in five projects funded by the Ministerio («La integral dramàtica II», «Thal-IA. Patrimonio teatral áureo: inteligencia artificial y fotografía espectral», «La integral dramàtica I», «Biografies marginals», and «Els impressors de Lope») and two additional projects with regional funding (HEURESIS and CTCN), as well as through multiple collaborations (Memòria Personal, UAB; NISE. Literatura catalana de l’edat moderna, UdG). Dr Llàcer has received training in ecdotics, textual criticism, palaeography, and archival research of diverse kinds, and she approaches her projects from an interdisciplinary perspective that combines different philological traditions (Hispanic, Catalan, French, and Italian) with the history of the book and of the publishing trade.
