Maria-Lluïsa Gea-Valor is a Senior lecturer in English Language and Linguistics at the University of València (Spain). From 2002 to 2016 she taught at the Universitat Jaume I in Castelló, Spain, where she was vice-dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences for six years. Her teaching expertise ranges from undergraduate to graduate courses. Her research interests lie in the fields of genre analysis-with a focus on the book review and the blurb -written academic discourse, and literary translation. Her contributions have been published in international volumes and indexed journals. She has co-edited several books on applied linguistics, corpus linguistics and translation, and has also co-authored an English phonology textbook. She is currently working on the English translation of Enric Valor's folktale corpus, together with Dr. Paul Scott Derrick; they have recently published Four Valencian Fairy Tales (Publications of eHumanista, 2020), Valencian Folktales by Enric Valor. Volume 1 (Routledge, 2023) and Valencian Folktales by Enric Valor. Volume 1 (Routledge, 2024). Over the years, she has been a visiting scholar at Georgetown University (USA), Southern Connecticut State University (USA), Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (Germany), Université de Genève (Switzerland) and University College London (UK).
