Resumo

: The mortgage loan for the acquisition of a primary residence is generally the largest financing operation for an individual throughout their life. Therefore, after understanding the main aspects to consider in this transaction and the benefits it represents for a credit institution, a detailed analysis is carried out on how the institution can evaluate the applicant’s ability to meet payment obligations and limit the credit risk of mortgage financing operations. The most relevant variable is the credit scoring, which provides the probability of the mortgage loan being repaid as planned. However, based on this information, the final decision of the credit institution is not always to grant or deny the requested financing
