Resumen alternativo:Employees' well-being has become one of the most important organizational outcomes. This research has traditionally focused on companies with a lucrative nature, but organizations can present different legal types. Our goal is to analyse whether the legal type plays a differential role on employees' well-being, operationalised with different indicators. The results revealed differences in the levels of well-being among the three types of organizations: social, public and for-profit organizations. In general, employees from social enterprises showed a greater degree of well-being in most indicators. However, when well-being is measured as extrinsic satisfaction or hedonic well-being orientation, these are higher for employees in for-profit companies.
