Abstract
The Erasmus program has completed 25 years and it is the European project that has had the greatest impact on academic mobility. At the same time, the Bologna process has emphasized the importance of the social dimension, i.e. equity in access to college. This article describes the characteristics of students who participate in the Erasmus program in Spain (both Incoming and Outgoing) from a social dimension perspective. It argues that this program, according to the current scholarships and grants policy, has an elitist nature because is determined by educational and economic capital of parents and educational and cultural capital of students.
