Abstract

Pérez Oliva’s Hécuba triste is considered as one of the first translations of a Greek tragedy into a vernacular tongue. It is a particular adaptation of Euripide’s Hecuba that involves significant changes, some of them as a result of the influence of other Greek tragedies. This article discusses some of the topics used by Pérez de Oliva referred to other texts, specially works related directly or indirectly to Ovid
