Abstract
The present research is focused on the analysis of 32 audiovisual flash fiction pieces on gender violence by university students in Information Sciences at the University of Valencia in 2012/2013. T-test bivariate analysis with SPSS v. 15 allowed studying visual management and use of mode-specific narrative proposals, showing up our students' sociological and symbolical perspective regarding gender violence, and highlighting cognitive implications in terms of representation among university students. The resulting significance patterns will help to interpret the way young communicators perceive and express this social problem. Results point out that woman-produced videos show victims at disadvantage relative to the aggressor, as well as underestimated. Likewise, these female directors interpret the aggressor in superiority, with clear dominion of the stage of representation. On the other hand, male directors identify the aggressor within a space organization characterised by normality. For the latter, the film space occupied by the victim in the shot is smaller than that occupied by the aggressor.
