Matilde Portalés-Raga is an associate lecturer and researcher in Visual Arts Education at the University of Valencia (Deparment of Corporal, Artistic and Musical Education Teaching) PhD in Fine Arts, Master's Degree in Cultural Management and Specialization Diploma in Culture, Reading and Children's Literature (UV). His main lines of research focus on the pedagogical potential of Arts-Based Multiliteracies, illustration, contemporary Illustrated Album studies, the theory of the Artistic Mind (Siedel et al., 2009) and embodied cognition within learning processes. Recent publications include: 'Multimodal Approach to Foster the Multiliteracies Pedagogy in the Teaching of EFL through Picturebooks: 'The Snow Lion' (Reyes-Torres & Portalés-Raga, 2020); "When they illustrate Botànica. The non-fictional album as the first green museum in school" (Portalés-Raga and Sendra Mocholí, 2025) and 'Artistic Multiliteracies and Embodied Picturebooks in Teacher Literary Education. The EMLA methodological approach' (Portalés-Raga & Bellver-Morant, 2025). She is affiliated with the Institute of Creativity and Educational Innovations (IUCIE/Universitat de València) and belongs to the Consell de critics literaris de la Revista Faristol (IBBY.cat/CCLIJ) and the International Research Society for Children's Literature (IRSCL). He is a member of the Lit(T)erart Research Group of the University of Valencia. As a professional illustrator in the world of LIJ, she has published numerous illustrated books with Spanish and international publishers, most of them on poetry, emotional intelligence and nature for children.
