Doctor by the Universitat de València with the thesis Eficiencia y competencia en los sectores bancarios cambios recientes en España y Europa 2005. Supervised by Dr. Francisco Pérez García, Dr. Joaquín Maudos Villarroya.

Dr Fernández de Guevara graduated and obtained his PhD (with special honors) in Economics from the Universitat de València, where he is Professor of Economic Analysis. He has participated as researcher in several European and national competitive research projects. His fields of specialization are banking economics and productivity analysis. He has jointly published more than 50 books or book chapters and over 30 articles in specialized national and international journals. He has also worked as consultant to institutions such as the European Commission, the European Investment Bank and the United Nations. Accredited as full professor.
