Inés Tomás Marco is Professor in the Department of Methodology of the Behavioral Sciences at the University of Valencia. She is a psychometrician with an extensive experience in teaching statistics and psychometrics and a well-established reputation conducting research. She has a PhD in social psychology and work and organizational psychology, and she is member of the IDOCAL (Research Institute of Personnel Psychology, Organizational Development, and Quality of Working Life) at the University of Valencia. She is also a member of the AEMCCO (Spanish Association of Behavioral Sciences Methodology). In the field of methodology, her main research interests focus on psychological measurement and psychometric testing, particularly issues in test validity and test fairness, the study of differential item functioning (DIF), and how to improve the quality of data in the field of psychological research by preventing and managing careless responding. Inés has published widely, including around 100 peer-reviewed journal articles (75 of them in journals indexed in JCR), 18 book chapters, 3 psychometric tests and 186 papers presented at national and international conferences. Her studies have been published in international scientific journals such as: Structural Equation Modeling: A multidisciplinary Journal; International Journal of Testing; Accident, Analysis & Prevention; Risk Analysis; Safety Science; Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology; Journal of Safety Research; Journal of Vocational Behaviour; Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology; The Service Industries Journal, Scandinavian Journal of Medicine and Science in Sports, Psychology of Sport and Exercise, Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport, Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, Psicothema, etc. She has developed and collaborated in around 40 funded research projects about topics such as development and validation of measurement scales, study of the differential item functioning, demographic diversity and work teams’ performance, safety behavior in high reliability organizations, leadership, organizational climate, employability and overqualification, and job quality. Inés serves as a member of the Advisory Board of Methodology, the official organ of the European Association of Methodology (EAM). She has been Vice President of the Organizing Committee of the 9th European Congress of Methodology that took place in September 2020 (virtual phase) and July 2021 (hybrid phase). She has been the supervisor of 6 PhD theses that have originated 14 publications in journals indexed in JCR. She has regularly collaborated with researchers from other universities. This collaboration has given rise to research stays at the University of Barcelona (Spain), the University of Western Sydney (Australia), the University of Coimbra (Portugal), the University of Oxford (UK), and the UANL (México). She also has made numerous research publications in co-authorship with researchers belonging to universities and research centers of international prestige. It is worth noting the close collaboration she has had with the UANL (México), leading her to receive in 2018 a recognition by the Rector of this university as "Affiliate Professor".
