The INTERFRANQ research group is made up of a group of researchers belonging to various areas of study whose main aim is the analysis of the Franco dictatorship from a complex and interdisciplinary perspective. In this sense, the group constitutes a space for discussion and permanent work within the University of Valencia whose purpose is the advancement of knowledge about the Franco regime from the convergence of different analytical, disciplinary and methodological perspectives that contemplate the dictatorship over an extensive timeline, covering its full duration (1939-1975) as well as the previous years of civil war (1936-39) and those of the current democracy and memory of Francoism. In accordance with its interdisciplinary nature, INTERFRANQ is currently working with the following analytical and methodological perspectives: political history, cultural history, local history, transnational history, history of science, cultural studies, memory studies, gender studies, postcolonial studies, history of education and social sciences teaching. Based on these approaches, the group addresses different topics aimed at studying understanding of the Franco regime and the management of its memor in greater depth. Conceived as a reference group in studies on Francoism that brings together work carried out primarily at the University of Valencia, INTERFRANQ functions as a dynamic platform open to the potential incorporation of new lines of analysis, as well as to establishing synergies and collaborations with other research groups from Spanish and foreign universities and centres also focused on the study of Francoism. INTERFRANQ encompasses different research projects in which its members participate and has a permanent research seminar.
