Resumen

n this paper we will analyze the time and manner in which women acceded the professional sphere of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Valencia. The first woman starts to teach in 1930. During the 40's and 50 major advances and changes didn't happen in the social and professional status of women in the university.; while since the mid-60s and especially the 70s we are attending a veritable explosion and consolidation of her presence. It is also at this time when the female gives the first steps in the management of the University of Valencia, affirming her position in the 80s, with the establishment of the democratic university.
