Different political traditions such as conservatives, liberals and Christian Democrats converge in Partido Popular. Despite having managed to become the main center-right party in Spain, the different ideological and strategic crises have demonstrated the need to describe the ideological evolution from its origins, starting with Alianza Popular and Unión de Centro Democrático, to understand how their ideological families are related and what efforts they have had to make by renouncing some of their ideas. The incursion in Spain of new lines of thought, such as economic neoliberalism and neoconservatism, are accompanied by a strong generational renewal that is backed up, to a large extent, by the work carried out by support networks, of which the Foundation for Analysis and Social Studies -FAES- could be an example, and that contribute to achieve the internationalization of the party.
