Resumo

The purpose of this piece of work is to analyse the relation between video games and the educational world in Spain. This article is presented in a context of consolidation of one of the most thriving industries within the cultural and the production of audiovisual content sectors: the video game industry. With this investigation, we aim to describe the existing relation between higher education and the video game industry -Libro Blanco del Desarrollo Español de los Videojuegos, (DEV, 2014) and, in order to achieve this goal, it is mandatory to analyse the educational range (Degree and Masters) and whether this range meets the demands of the video game industry. The research project in which the authors have worked offers a number of results that will be set out in this article, where both realities (the video game and the formative industries) are analysed with the goal of establishing a benchmark. The methodology used in this investigation has been the direct observation of working dynamics in research centres and reference events in the realm of video games, as well as in-depth interviews with academic and professional experts.
