Abstract

The importance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their necessary implementation in the University environment drives us to develop innovative projects for the dissemination and implementation of the SDGs in the Chemistry Degree at the University of Valencia (UVEG). Specifically, an educational innovation project (UV-SFPIE_PID1639436) has been carried out related to the SDGs and their implementation in the subjectsin the area of organic chemistry where two compulsory experimental subjects called "Laboratory of Organic Chemistry I" and "Laboratory of Organic Chemistry II”. These subjects consist of experimental practices on the theoretical knowledge acquired in thedifferent Organic Chemistry subjects. The educational innovation project has consisted of updating and redesigning the practices of these experimental subjects of the Degree in Chemistry from the perspective of sustainability. This new design has made it possible to implement the SDGs in teaching, making students aware of these important objectives and their application in a more practical way. In this way, their awareness of sustainability and the development of a greener chemistry has been increased, making them participate in the implementation of these SDGs in teaching.
