Resumen

Academic debate is a form of active learning that encourages students' critical thinking and develops their oral communication skills. The objective of this work was to analyze the use of debates in the learning process of university students supported by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the Agenda 2030. The debate took place within the XII Congress of Pharmacy Students in the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Valencia Estudi General (UVEG). The topic of the debate, chosen by 62.5% of the students through "Google Forms", was: "Should scientists be the ones who communicate science to the population?" (SDG#1, #2, #3 and, #10). Reading/consultation/reflection resources were provided through the Virtual Classroom and each student recorded a video of their position with aspects “for” and/or “against” through “Flipgrid”. On the day of the debate and randomly, the teams were assigned one of the positions. The evaluation of the debate was carried out by a jury, using a rubric, and by the attending audience, using "Mentimeter". In both cases, the score was higher for the "for” team. The score of student satisfaction was medium-high (3.5 points on the Likert scale).
