Resumen

This paper is relevant both to the teaching of classical authors of world literature and the didactic unit of Catalan as a foreign language (CLE), since it presents a didactic activity that introduces the troubadours, their world and their language, by taking their medieval biographies (vidas) as a starting point. The first session is a workshop (about three-hour long), part of a larger didactic unit dedicated to the troubadours. It aims at introducing students to these authors and to Old Occitan by means of biographic sources, images, listening comprehension and a website. This paper also presents TrobEu (www.trob-eu.net/), a new on-line tool about troubadour culture and its context that can prove very useful to secondary-school teachers and lectors of Catalan in non-Catalan universities, to prepare their classes about literature or culture.
