Abstract

Family members of deceased persons experience symptoms associated with the grieving process that can be buffered by the presence of self-pity and minful capacity. The objective was to analyse the main characteristics of adjustment to the death of a loved one. The study shows that most mourners show anxious symptoms (81.80%), depressive symptoms (77.30%), a mixed problem of anxiety and depression (59.10%), low self-compassion and mindfulness.
