This paper presents an overview of studies on Iberian ceramics and their essentialrole in the construction of knowledge of the Iberian world. Although much remainsto be done and much remains to be known, we have a corpus of classifications andtypologies that help us to order and understand the functionality and use of thedifferent ceramic forms that we find recurrently in contexts associated with Iberianculture. The specific characteristics of the ceramics, together with the study of theircirculation in the territory and the productive or consumption contexts, have in turnprovided us with relevant economic and social information to improve our knowledge of the Iberian world.
