Abstract

Fibrous tumors and tumorlike lessions form an heterogeneous group of distinct entities, differing in biologic behavior, but being histologically very similar, thus presenting considerable difficulties in pathologic diagnosis. Trauma, endocrine, and genetic factors have been implicated in the development of the disease. We present a case of fibromatosis in a newborn, with the histopatologic features. The patient had no pathology 8 years following therapy.
