Abstract

Unitats de xoc, a war chronicle published by Pere Calders during the Civil War, despite the author's lack of interest in recovering it, has been considered, both at the time of the original edition and later, one of the most relevant testimonies of the war experience. The unmistakable Caldersian style and the moral reflection that dominates it are the main features on which the universality and timelessness of the testimony rest.
