Abstract
On January 1, 2023, the new Sports Law entered into force. The objective of this article is to analyse the novelties that this standard introduces in the field of sports-labour, and which are basically focused on the following aspects: the promotion of gender equality in professional sport; the guarantee of the right of professional athlete to the unilateral termination of their employment relationship when there is serious and culpable breach of the sports entity; the representation of the professional athletes in bankruptcy proceedings of clubs or entities sports; and the legitimacy to negotiate collective agreements in the field of professional sport.
