Abstract

The lack of consensus on the existence of empirical laws in biology, shows that biologist have been dedicating their time to make (essentially mathematical) models to express biological facts. The challenge is to find out how models explain. Thus, this paper analyzes Alisa Bokulich’s explanatory model known as model explanation, and shows a specific example in biology with the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium model.
