Abstract
This contribution proposes a reflection on the new challenges of training in the field of public administration. It does so by describing the main models of training: traditional training, social learning and competency model, collaborative and situated learning. In this regard, emphasis is placed on the need and desirability of promoting informal learning and collaboration. It is, in this direction, that the proposal of the 70/20/10 model is viewed as a possible response to the learning requirements that actually exist. Its application reinforces and supports the processes of improvement in public administration when it is oriented to professional development and organizational development. A relevant concretion is the one which results in the individualized development plans that aim to guide and encourage performance.
