The state of alarm derived from the COVID-19 has forced to suddenly adapt the traditional methods of teaching in the University Degrees. Of the many challenges that this unexpected situation has posed, without a doubt, the adaptation of the final exams to online methods has been one of the greatest difficulties in the transition to face-to-face teaching. This paper presents the experience on the Private International Law subject. The most frequently used method for the final exam of the subject is the resolution of theoretical-practical cases. This method has been found to be more than satisfactorily adapted to the online final evaluation, since it allows the evaluation of the student’s knowledge using the technical conditions available on the Moodle platform. This communication explains how the evaluation has been adapted, as well as the results finally obtained, which do not always coincide with the expectations initially set by the teacher. This experience will allow us to reflect on the strengths and challenges of this method with the aim of serving as a guide for future online teaching experiences and, ultimately, it can be extrapolated to other disciplines.
