Abstract
Since its origins, the exercise of the right to be forgotten has been in conflict with the freedoms of expression and information. The recent decision analysed in this work marks another step further in the configuration of this conflict within the context of the processing of special categories of personal data and personal data relating to criminal convictions and offences carried out by a search engine. The Court of Justice of the European Union offers a novel solution for cases dealing with the removal of links present in the search engine that refer to websites where criminal judicial proceedings are reported.
