Abstract
New technology (computer assisted surgery and personal specific instrumentation) has marked a milestone in the performance of total knee replacement as procedure has become easy and more efficient. The authors perform a bibliographic review in English and Spanish of manuscripts that show outcomes with traditional and navigated surgery. Exclusion criteria are manuscripts not reflecting benefits or complications. Until now, computer assisted surgery and personal specific instrumentation have not shown considerable gain to justify increase expenses of this new technology, however it is a fact that nowadays everyone tries to take advantage of new technologies. Currently, navigation is being adjusted to surgeons’ priorities and it is changing its interface to make easier sharing data during performance.
