Resumen

The noble and carthusian Francisco de Aranda played a prominent role in the affairs of the Crown of Aragon between the reigns of Pedro IV of Aragon and Alfonso V the Magnanimous. This work is based on the biography that he dedicated to Dom Juan Bautista Civera, a chronicler of the charterhouse of Portaceli between the XVIth and XVIIth centuries, and the historiography that has followed him, with which is updated and resized his personality in a key period for peninsular history in relation to Western Schism and the Compromise of Caspe.
