Abstract

Ocular yoga exercises integrates classic Hatha Yoga and the Bates method. Despite its long history, there is a lack of objective data concerning the degree of improvement in visual acuity through its practice. Objective: to study the effect of ocular yoga on the myopic eye. Methods: an intervention study was conducted on 538 myopic volunteers (1,076 eyes) who practiced 9 progressive exercise tables over 5 months. The Snellen test applied at the beginning and end of the intervention assessed visual acuity. Results: Distant visual acuity in myopia was increased by an average of 29.05±19.38% (p<0.001).
