Résumé

From the perspective of the health, the program of neuromuscular conditioning (PANM) must present criteria of efficiency and safety criteria. In the present text there is approached the criterion of efficiency based on the muscular activation unleashed by the execution of the exercise, whereas the safety criteria are based on the biomechanical analyses of the movement involved during the exercise. The aim of the present sistematic review is developing the safety aspects and efficiency of the exercise in the bench press and its variants. It has been made a bibliographical search in the databases PUBmed, SPORTdiscus and PEDro and specific manuals. It is possible to conclude that supporting the suitable criteria of efficiency and safety, the bench press is an exercise that can be prescribed in the programs of neuromuscular conditioning.
