Resumen
Nowadays, the most usual treatment for osteonecrosis of femoral head is the total hip arthroplasty, that implanted in young patients, the most usual patients affected from this disease; it means a reduction f the physical activity of the patients and sentences them to a revision surgery in the long term. The diagnosis of the illness in latest stages and the differences in the femoral head depending on the affected area and necrosis location makes difficult to carry out therapeutical protocols different from the arthroplasty. The present article presents the different therapeutical alternatives for osteonecrosis, pharmacological, biophysical or surgical, except for hip arthroplasty. The knowledge of these new treatments allows to adequate the osteonecrosis treatment to different stages of the illness, as well as for different kinds of patients.
