Programas de acondicionamiento neuromuscular en la diabetes mellitus 2

Resumen

La diabetes mellitus tipo 2 (DM 2) es una patología que conlleva asociadas alteraciones biológicas que disminuyen la calidad de vida, sobretodo aquellas que acontecen sobre sistema neuromuscular. El tratamiento integral incorpora la utilización de programas de acondicionamiento neuromuscular como herramienta complementaria. El objetivo de esta revisión ha sido recopilar la evidencia actual sobre esta materia realizándose por mediación de los descriptores �diabetes mellitus 2�, �non insulin dependent�, �glycemic control�, �resistance training�, �strength training�, �muscular fitness,� una búsqueda bibliográfica en las bases de datos PubMed, SportDiscus, Web of Knowledge (WOK) obteniendo 42 trabajos originales y 31 de revisión. Se concluye que el diseño de los programas de acondicionamiento neuromuscular para diabetes tipo 2 deberán realizarse de 1 a 3 series de 8 a 15 repeticiones con carga submáxima (60-80% de una repetición máxima voluntaria) distribuyendo en circuito de 8 a 10 ejercicios que movilicen los grandes grupos musculares.
