Abstract

The Doctoral Thesis Del salón al gabinete. Escritoras y pintoras «de afición» en la España del XIX is part of the Doctorate Program in Art History of the Universitat de València. Its objective is to investigate the role of women in the enlightened artistic world and the dynamics they used to achieve public visibility at that time. The study analyses concrete and unpublished cases of women who become member of Fine Arts' academies in Spain from their official formation until the mid-19th century
