Abstract

In contrast to imported inflation, the growth rate of the GDP deflator is a more appropriate indicator than CPI inflation to monitor the extent to which our economy generates additional pressure on price growth and to serve as a basis for a potential income pact. In this paper, we use a stochastic dynamic general equilibrium model, estimated for the Spanish economy, to assess the contribution of the main factors determining the evolution of the GDP deflator and real wages since the start of the pandemic
