The research, "Characterization and analysis of the implementation of the Visible Thinking approach in Initial Education institutions in Bogotá D.C¿ seeks to understand the characteristics of the approach, as well as its relationship with the objectives of Early Childhood Education in Colombia, considering the gaze of educational agents and experts, analyzing the conditions that are required to implement it, understanding during the process the impacts and transformations that have been evidenced during the last decade, in order to recognize these lines that allow to continue advancing in terms of quality and relevance of education during the first years of life. The research methodology is qualitative, it does not pretend to reach universal but specific conclusions. It is also characterized as oriented basic research, according to Colás, et al., (2009) it is carried out with the idea that it will produce a wide knowledge capable of constituting a platform that allows solving problems already raised, such as the discussion that currently is booming in Colombia related with the purpose of Early Childhood Education. The research shows in its conclusions that the stage for transformation is already set and that the most important thing to make it is to focused on the development of a culture in which reflective teaching practices take a fundamental place, since through these it is achieved that the contexts in which children are growing up change as fast as society and its needs are changing. The development of thinking is invited to be the protagonist of the processes; to make the question essential in all scenarios; to make the language of the entire educational community reflects the intended objectives to understand that the teacher is also a constant learner; to make the capacities of children between the ages of 0 and 6 not to be underestimated; to make the metacognition to be recognized as a fundamental skill to develop during the early years. All of the above is part of the principles and postulates of the Visible Thinking approach.
