Resumen

Excavations at the Iberian settlement of Torre de la sal have uncovered several sections of a road that can be dated to the 2nd century BC. Possibly they are part of a long-distance axis that continues in a northerly direction towards the river ebro, and in a southerly direction towards the cities of Arse-Saguntum and Valentia. Unlike the Via Augusta, which in this area follows a route inland, the route of the republican period seems to be a coastal route, where there are important settlements that played a prominent role in the maritime trade of that time.
