Resumen

Since its introduction, Darwinism has been a controversial element in Spain among the most liberal and conservative sectors of society, according to historians. It has suffered particularly restrictive periods such as the Franco dictatorship, where it was subjected to strong censorship. The aim of this work is to present a collection of articles from the ABC newspaper from 1909 to 1982 —the centenary of the birth and death of the naturalist— which shows how sociopolitical conditions have influenced its representation.Keywords: Darwin, ABC, Spain, 20th century, Franco dictatorship.
