Resumen

En aquest article-resposta argumentem que la tipologia factorial predita a Martínez-Paricio i Kager (2015), basada representacionalment en l’existència de peus ternaris amb estructura interna binaria, és completa i precisa. Demostrem que no prediu els sistemes accentuals assenyalats per Golston (aquest volum) com a problemàtics. A més, corroborem que el peu ternari amb estructura interna binaria és una representació mètrica adequada tipològicament, tant des del punt de vista accentual, com des del punt de vista de les distribucions tonals i segmentals condicionades mètricament. Finalment, suggerim que l’afirmació de Golston «cap sistema accentual requereix peus ternaris» sembla massa forta i no està corroborada empíricament.
