Resumen

The scientific literature related to the profile F-v (Force – velocity) was analysed. The search was performed in PubMed using the key words ‘force-velocity profile’. A total of 40 studies out of 126 articles were chosen according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results were divided into two sections and four subsections, differentiating within the vertical jump field those concerning the measurement methodology and those concerning the way of training optimisation. As regards the sprint, the articles that dealt with methodology and individualization were grouped and separated from those dealing with the F-v profile and hamstring injury. The conclusion arising from the study indicates that the F-v profile in jump and sprint is a validated measurement methodology that facilitates training individualization. However, although performance improvements are found after workouts based on your profile, as far as sprinting is concerned; more research is needed to create a solid body of results that strongly support its effectiveness.
