Abstract
The Iberian Network of Geological Spaces, has emerged recently, with the idea to establish a coordination between different geological parks, geological and miner parks and mining museums. This coordination has become applicable to similar territories including island Territories that exist in Portugal and want to join this network. The idea of this network appears after finding the need to coordination, following the first meeting held in Molina de Aragón during the III Congress of geology and mining environmental, organized in the Geopark of the Molina region of Aragón and the Alto Tajo, by SIGMADOT. After the event, seven geological areas have joined to the network: geological parks, cultural parks, mining museums, as well as, various projects. The main objective is to establish a working group comprised of members of the network, and those who join in in the future, to present and work on the existing figures of study, conservation and rural development, of different geological spaces, which are not Geopark.
