Abstract

Several global biotic events took place during the Palaeozoic. However, it is noteworthy the virtual lack of studies focused on the diversity changes of Palaeozoic early vertebrates. In this work, we present preliminary results about diversification and extinction rates of thelodonts from an ecological perspective. Our results suggest that diversity changes of thelodonts were closely related with several biotic and abiotic factors affecting in a differential way to the distinct ecological groups of the clade.
