Zusammenfassung
This article analyses the two main financial decisions of households which are investment and debt. After a survey of the main explanatory variables for both financial savings and debt, an international comparative study is undertaken to detect the differences in terms of these financial decisions of families. The empirical results show that the theoretical links between financial investment (and debt) and their explanatory factors are only partly evidenced. The increasing financial culture of Spanish households do notsupport the existence of normative and tax distorsions for the different financial assets.
