Abstract

In this paper we describe the design process developed for a small rehearsal room for music in the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain). The room will be used by the University Choir, by instrumental chamber groups and by the orchestra of the University. As starting point, we studied the appropriate range of the most important acoustics parameters of this kind of rooms. Then we have drawn several architectural proposals, and we have simulated them with the CATT-Acoustic program. With the virtual simulations we have chosen the appropriate construction materials for the final design of the room.
