Resumen
Francisco Carreras, as director of the General Geography of the Kingdom of Valencia, commended to Daniel Jimenez de Cisneros the composition for this work of a chapter about the geology and paleontology of the Kingdom of Valencia. This was the most extensive published by Jimenez de Cisneros, and represented the opportunity to write a geologic monograph of the valencian territory in which he wrote about the state of the geologic knowledge at the beginning of the XX century. Without a doubt, this is the focus that has been possible in the context of the work of Francisco Carreras. The geology of Alicante was based in his own investigations but the Castellón and Valencia was in other works. With this point of view he finished editing a text, in which an excessive unequal treatment is shown to please the Alicante province. So, he finished giving an erroneous vision of the valencian geology, far away in many cases of the reality.
