Resumen

Some data regarding the ecology and phytosociology of Pteris vittata in La Safor, Valencia province (East of Spain), are reported. Its indicative value in Adiantion communities is remarked, mainly in Trachelio-Adiantetum, a plant community in which P. vittata marks a particular variant of warmer and more humid places in the thermomediterranean stage at La Safor. At the same time, a trend to its participation in Molinio-Holoschoenion communities growing under a canopy is pointed out. The native or alien origin of this taxon in the Valencian mountains is also discussed.
