Abstract

This research analyzes the use and implementation of current Geotechnologies for the design and development of EDSS applied to the water cycle in three areas of action: (1) analyzing the particularities of the digital management process of quantitative observations aimed at aiding decision-making in water systems, (2) identifying the EDSS capabilities in integrated coastal modeling applied to flood risk management and (3) defining the main aspects that must be met by the meteo-oceanographic Operational Systems to facilitate the decision-making process. This doctoral thesis shows how the multidisciplinary scientific-technical knowledge of researchers and technologists have been integrated into EDSS applied to the management of Water Systems, the current Information Technologies have been the facilitator to successfully undertake a scientific and technological transfer to society.
