Resumen

A new population of Grimmia capillata De Not. was discovered growing on old, weathered roof tiles in a coastal locality in the north-eastern extreme of Alicante province. Some taxonomic, ecological and conservation aspects on this species are commented, and original illustrations of the material studied are provided. Grimmia capillata represents a novelty to the Alicante province and is considered as Vulnerable (VU) in the Spanish Red List of Endangered Bryophytes.
