Abstract
A unique case design is presented with a psychological intervention from an interdisciplinary approach, in a 23-year-old fitness practitioner, who aims to gain volume of muscle mass to improve his image and feel better. The methodology used is the methodological triangulation, combining qualitative assessments of the motivational components of the model and quantitative instruments, such as the Ryff Psychological Welfare Scale and the Bassler and Schwarzer General Self-efficacy Questionnaire. For the intervention (which consisted of 8 sessions), the motivational coaching model “Canton’s Giraffe” (Cantón, 2013) is used. The objective set by the participant is to increase their weight by 3.5 kilos in five months, with the help of professionals in psychology, sports sciences and nutrition. The participant is also expected to improve their expectations and other motivational factors and acquire skills and health habits that will serve them for the future
